What happened to all of the other amp models?
I bet I get this alt for a few months...
Well let's face t, if you answered the phones here, you wold ask, why do offer all of those other models, when you sell 90% LK/LK-S??? Good question,,,well I finally gave in. I need to focus on the amps that sell, but also the amps I love to build and test...The Lil' King and the LK-S (my fave and the best amp I have ever built) are my Bread and Butter...And I feel that they should be virtually every guitar players as well...In my opinion with todays gigs, you can cover 75% of it with one of the amps and the other 25% with both working together. How often should I change my Power tubes?
Depending on playing habits and model, I would say every 6-12 months for heavy use and 1-2 years for light use. The higher wattage amps will burn through the power tubes a bit quicker than the lower wattage models.
This is partly due to the higher voltages found on the power tube plates in the larger amps.
Who Makes your transformers?
Heyboer. I have found them to be great to work with while building to vintage specs without trying to make them better like a few other hype based companies. Same materials, same specs as the old stuff!
Heyboer has been in business for 50+ years and I am very pleased with the work they do!
Do your amps have Circuit Boards?
NEVER!

Do your amps ship with 220-240V transformers for use in the EU and other countries?
Yes, with the proper power cords. We also have dealers overseas that have them in stock.
What should I do if my amp makes a weird noise?
First, DO NOT PANIC! and turn off the amp.
Second, Call me direct or email me
Third, I will take care of the issue and 90% of the time it can be taken care of with a phone call and/or email or two.

I had never heard of you guys, how long have you been in business?
Since 2002 and going strong! I actually like being a little bit lesser known as I can control growth and not the other way around. This allows me to deal directly with you.
What is the stock 12" speaker in the LK and why?
I use the 12" Eminence Legend GB128 on all stock floor models. I find this to be a fairly transparent speaker that takes pedals very well. I have used virtually all 12" and 10" models in the amps and I will happily answer any questions regarding them.
What the tonal differences between the Alnico and the Ceramic magnets?
To my ears in the two amps we offer, the main difference comes down to low volume nuances vs. bottom end clarity at mid to upper volume levels.
The Alnico is a bit sweeter at lower to mid volumes but tends to flatten out in the bottom end response a bit early...If you are using LP/335/etc and want a clean Jazz sound this is NOT the speaker for you. I find the Alnico speakers to suit the 50's era blues which few guys play. It also works well for low volume home use and recording sessions. Not so good for a gigging amp in the LK as it is already fighting an uphill battle at 12 watts.....
The ceramic speakers are more of a 60’s blues/rock/funk sound...Brighter, cleaner, tighter and the bottom end and overall louder speakers.
If you are a Jazz guy 95% of the time this id the speaker for you...Also anyone into Clapton/Hendrix on up can count on a better tone with the ceramic...If you use pedals for the majority of your boost or OD, the Ceramic is the way to go. I generally ship at least 80% of the amps out of here with the ceramic magnet speaker.
